University of Cambridge International Examinations: International General Certificate of Secondary Education - IGCSE.

The University of  Cambridge  IGCSE qualifications are recognised by universities and employers worldwide. By offering Cambridge qualifications, IESB is joining a network of 6000 Cambridge Centres worldwide and demonstrates its commitment to the highest educational standards. Students obtaining passes in these exams show that they are knowledgeable in these subjects and that they are capable of studying them effectively in English. These exams are taken in many schools in Britain and in international schools throughout the world

IESB is proud to be offering its students in Grade 9 the opportunity to prepare and sit for the above qualification in English as a Second Language and Math. Students who are prepared to do the work required in order to pass the exams may choose one or at the most two of the subjects offered, but may only choose one of the subjects  General Science and Mathematics. Extra tuition will be provided for two hours after school and this will be free of charge. All 9th Grade students are entitled to register and there will be no charge for tuition, but students must realise that it will require a serious effort on their part. IESB will not be paying the actual examination fee ; this must be paid by the student and amounts at present to 500 SEK per subject.
