On the 29th of April Eskilstuna resonated to the rhythm of the voices and music showcased by students from four competing International English Schools in the Eurovision Song Contest Finals.  Highly polished performances were delivered by students from Gävle, Enskede, Bromma and Eskilstuna in French and Spanish.

The audience oscillated between enraptured silence at the gripping and haunting French melody – La Vie en Rose – performed by Malin Hager from Enskede and moments later responded with thunderous applause to the vibrant beat of Todo lo bueno tiene un final performed in Spanish by students from Gävle.  The Mosca en la casa performed in Spanish by Bromma and the dramatic appearance of two Grade 9 classes from the host school Eskilstuna, dancing, singing, throwing streamers and balloons to the audience from the back of the auditorium, resulted in ecstatic clapping and ovation from the audience. 

Judges wrestled with their decision for some time and finally Ms Marcela Holmgren, the Head of Modern Languages in Eskilstuna and the charismatic leader of the passionate team of teachers who organised the event with military precision, proudly announced the winners.   Malin Hager from Enskede took first place, Diana Mosa who sang Angel in French, from Eskilstuna took second place and the performers of the vibrant Spanish song from Gävle took third place.

The concert had every quality the public usually associates with the Eurovision Song Contest, thanks to the musical genius of Håkan Almqvist and the logistic synchronisation of Jenny Isakson, both who have years of experience working on national and international events.

We all look forward to next years Eurovision Song Contest which will be hosted in Stockholm by the winning school, IES Enskede.

This year "Skoljoggen" will take place on Wednesday the 9:th of September when our students take part in the afternoon. For the benefit of Barncancerfonden!

Back to School Night is taking place at
Wednesday the 16:th of September 17:00-20:00 pm.

We welcome all grade 6 parents and parents to our new arrived students to come and see the school, meet the teachers and staff members, look at study materials and see our choir performance, among other nice activities!

Back To School Night är en kväll då vi hälsar alla föräldrar till våra nya elever i åk 6 samt nytillkommna elever i övriga klasser välkomna till skolan för att träffa alla lärare och övrig skolpersonal, bekanta sig med läroböcker samt se vår kör uppträda, bland andra trevliga aktiviteter.
