Important Notes Regarding Homework 2010/2011 Academic Year
- The attached schedule represents the days on which homework should be set by the teacher and handed in by the student.
- The student therefore is entitled to one whole week in which to complete their set homework tasks.
- Students should be given a reasonable amount of homework per subject per week.
- Weekly homework is not part of the Aesthetics subjects' curriculum; however students will occasionally have homework.
- When homework is set students must write down details of the task in their student diary.
- It is advised that students complete their homework close to the day it was set whilst the topic is still clear in their mind.
- To avoid stress it is advised that students plan a time to complete homework tasks and avoid leaving everything to the last minute. Students should ideally do a piece of homework every evening.
- Parents are requested to support students by checking wherever possible that homework is completed properly.
- Parents are requested to ensure that their children have a quiet area, well lit and free from distractions at which to do their homework.
- If a student is unsure about any aspects of homework it is their responsibility to make time to speak with the teacher and to attend surgeries for extra support. Please see the surgery schedule for your child's class.
- Parents are obliged to send a signed and dated note to school should homework be missed, be incomplete, late or forgotten. Without this the student concerned will receive no credit for their work and will thus put their grade at risk and consequently may receive an Academic Notice.
