Hans Bergström Essay Competition 2010
Congratulations to Himashi Kodikara in 7A on being awarded 3rd place in the
Hans Bergström Essay Competition 2010. We are delighted for Himashi and agree wholeheartedly with the judges that this is an outstanding achievement for a grade 7 student. When interviewed about her reaction to winning 3rd place and 2.000 SEK, Himashi said, “I appreciate very much the opportunity that the Hans Bergström Essay Competition gave us to express our thoughts about Global Warming. That I came this far and that my opinions matter makes me grateful and happy.” This year’s topic was Climate Change and every school in the IES organisation was able to enter 6 essays from their school. The standard of all entries from our school was extremely high this year and we would like to congratulate the other entries on their thought provoking writing: Anna Karle 9B, Isabella Normark 9A, Linnea Frank 9A, Rebecca Lindeberg 9A, Alva Winsa 9A. The Awards Ceremony will be held at IESE on June 3rd.
