My name is Marie Spolander and I work as a nurse at IES Krokslätt. I am involved in the student care team together with the principal, specialpedagog, the school psychiatrist, counsellor and the school doctor.
My task is first and foremost to work in a way to prevent illness and to promote a healthy lifestyle. The main focus is to follow the students' increase in growth, in this way I will in good time be able to discover if there is any digression in their development due to possible medical or psychological background. I will examine the spine to screen for scoliosis. For those students who may have a divergence I will schedule regular follow ups and if needed some may be referred to see the school doctor. The increase in growth and scoliosis screening takes place in grade 4 and grade 6. Individual health talks are offered to all students in grade 4 and 6. In health talks we discuss health, emotions, sleep, physical activities and our bodies.
